Dorothy Anne Shoemaker, 78, of Lebanon, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, in Springfield.

She was born July 2, 1942, in Phillipsburg, Kan. to John and Helen McCall Carlin, who preceded her in death.

On Sept. 18, 1960, she married David Shoemaker.

She was a real estate broker for many years. She was a devoted homemaker and loved sewing, baking and cooking. She had a servant heart and spent countless hours making mats for the homeless out of plastic bags. She loved to travel with her husband Dave and treasured every moment spent with her family.

Dorothy was a longtime, active and faithful member of Southern Heights Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband Dave of the home; four children, Mark Shoemaker and his wife Denise, David Shoemaker and his wife Janice and Chris Shoemaker and his wife Jodi, all of Lebanon; and Dawn Sampson and her husband Daniel of Dillsburg, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, Brandon Shoemaker and his wife RaeAnn, Derek Shoemaker, Megan Semonis and her husband Sam. Ryan Shoemaker and his wife Danielle, Brooke McElvaney and her husband Levi, Austin Shoemaker, Aaron Shoemaker, Noah Sampson, Lyla Sampson and Allie Sampson; seven great-grandchildren; three siblings, Irene Koester of Logan, Kan.; Weldon Carlin and his wife Carol of Norton, Kan. and Harold Carlin of McCook, Neb.; other relatives; church family; and many dear friends.

A memorial service for Dorothy Anne Shoemaker will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at Southern Heights Christian Church with Ryan Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Fort Leonard Wood Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville. At her request, her body is to be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
