DONALD RAY LONG

Donald Ray Long, 81, of Hartville, died Friday, July 29, 2022.

He was born Sept. 5, 1940, in Grovespring, Mo. to Clyde Eldon Long and Ruth Geneva (McNealy) Long.

In 1959 he married Cathern Ann Robertson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Wilma Robertson; brother and sister-in-law, Owen and Beulah Long; sister and brother-in-law, Bettie and Harvey Whipple; sister-in-law, Connie Long, and daughter-in-law, Susan Long.

Donald worked in power and telephone construction for several years before becoming a beef and dairy farmer. Later he drove a bus for Hartville R-2 Schools.

He professed his faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age and later became a deacon at the Pleasant Grove (Cope) Church.

Survivors include his wife Cathern of Hartville; his brother, Ronnie Long of Grovespring; his children, Brady Long of Mexico, Mo.; Scott Long and his wife Sheila of Cabool; Charles Long and his wife Luciana of Bryan, Texas; an an ever expanding group of 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

A memorial visitation for Donald Ray Long were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, at Pleasant Grove (Cope) Church near Harville. Burial will be in the Cope Cemetery near Hartville, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Hartville. Memorials may be made to Cope Cemetery, Integrity Hospice, or any non-Democrat charity of your choice.
