Donald Eugene Merrill, 64, of Lebanon, died Monday evening, March 22, 2021, at his home.
He was born Aug. 1, 1956, in Long Beach, Calif. to Eugene V. and Bobby L. Cox Merrill.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary Leo Merrill, and infant, John Thomas Merrill; and his former father-in-law, Ernest Mentola Sr.
He was raised in the Foley and Troy, Mo. areas and graduated from Troy High School. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Army for a few years. Once he was honorably discharged from the military, he began working as an electric lineman for Gascosage Electric Cooperative for a few years.
Survivors include his fiancee’ Rosemary Knapp of Lebanon; two sisters, Mary Sue Martin and her husband Dave of Foley, Mo., and Carla Ann Wilkins of Kissimmee, Fla.; his former wife, Bonnie Mentola of Lebanon; a daughter, Tiffany L. Merrill of the state of Missouri; a son, Donald E. Merrill Jr. of Ozora, Mo.; a friend that was like a brother to him, Patch Wylesky of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Donald Eugene Merrill will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021, at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Don Sing officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Cemetery near Sleeper. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon.
