Dessie Admire, 87, of Conway, died Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Strafford.
She was born Aug. 31, 1935, in Wright County to James Otto and Clara Mae Lindsay Rue.
On May 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Lewis Melvin Admire.
She was a devoted wife and homemaker. She worked with her husband Melvin tending to the daily chores of the farm. She also spent many hours gardening, sewing and making quilts.
Dessie made a profession of faith at an early age and was an active member of Morgan Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by three children, Melinda Twyman and her husband Dennis, Myron Admire and his wife Michelle, Jim Admire and his wife Claire; five grandchildren, Katelyn Admire-Sholk and her husband, Jared, Noah Admire and his wife Tana, Emily Admire, Ian Admire and Aubrianna Admire; one great-grandchild, Eleanor Sholk; three sisters, Margaret Plank, Nola Pearce and Shirley Neasby; one brother, Darrel Rue and his wife Darlene; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Dessie Admire will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in McBride Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to McBride Cemetery. Please make checks payable to McBride Cemetery.
