Monday’s storms saw a delay in storm shelter access for those who sought refuge at the Joel E. Barber FEMA shelter.
“They had the gates closed. There were about five or six other cars already there…” Jessica Judy, area resident, said. “Nobody could get into the FEMA building.” She says that the group had to wait for staff to arrive to open the gate.
