David “Chance’’ Smith, 38, of Lebanon, died Saturday, June 3, 2023, in Lebanon.
He was born Dec. 19, 1984, in Springfield to David Smith and Terry Pettitt Lindner.
Chance was preceded in death by one sister, Devra Muntz; maternal grandmother, Sylvia Pettitt; paternal grandparents, Gene and Helen Smith.
He worked at Missouri Cooperage in Lebanon. When he wasn’t working, he loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and being on the river. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs Football fan. He also loved watching his son, Luke, wrestle. Time spent with his family is what he treasured most.
Chance was a member of Emmanuel Chapel Church.
He is survived by two sons, Luke and Coby; his father, David Smith of Lebanon, and his mother, Terry Lindner and her husband John of Castle Rock, Colo.; one sister, Rachele Smith, of Lebanon; nieces and nephew, De’nea Smith, Drew Truelove and Jameson Muntz; maternal grandfather, Bob Pettitt; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins, including special cousins and dear friends, Hannah Johnson and James Smith; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for David “Chance’’ Smith will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Dusty Hill officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time also on Thursday, June 8, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
