DARLENE EVELYN (SCHICKNER) DECKARD

Darelne Evelyn (Schickner) Deckard, 90, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, in Lebanon.

She was born March 7, 1931, in McClelland, Iowa to Walter and Nellie O’Doniel Schickner.

At the age of 23, on July 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Ulysses Deckard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ulysses Deckard; one son, Charles Deckard and one grandson, Ricky Lynn Hazel.

Darlene’s top priority was tending to the needs of her family. However, she also worked outside her home at H.D. Lee for many years.

She was baptized as a child and was a member of Mount Carney Christian Church.

Survivors include iher children, Janie Martinez of Kansas City, Kan.; Judy Small of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Wanda Mead of Burlington, N.C.; Deanna Miller and her husband Kerry of Lebanon; Juanita Smith of Rockaway, N.J.; Brenda Kimrey and her husband Eddie of Lebanon; Joy Chambers of Rolla; Ray Deckard and his wife Shelley of Desloge, Mo.; Angela Innes (Rich) of Brentwood, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Deckard of Tonganoxie, Kan.; 28t grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Darlene Evelyn (Schickner) Deckard will be held at noon Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor David Douglas officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Carney Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will be 11 a.m until service time, also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
