Daniel Dane Wilson, 79, of Kansas City, Mo., died Monday, May 3, 2021, in Kansas City.

He was born July 21, 1941, in Laclede County, Mo. to William Robert and Mable Dorbecker Wilson.

Daniel was preceded in death by his son Lonnie in 2012; his ex-wife, Linda, and sisters, Peggy, Lavena and Louella.

He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1954. After graduating, he cut logs for James (Buddy) Peppers and worked as a voluntary firefighter for the Department of Conservation. He also worked hard farming until 1960. On Dec. 6, 1963 he entered the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged on May 22, 1964. He served our arm forces as a sharp shooter and helicopter mechanic. After his discharge, he moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he worked at Simons Mattress, a fiberglass plant, and lastly, with General Motors, where he was employed for over 30 years, never missing a day of work. He also drove dealer trade cars for many different dealerships until failing health.

Survivors include his son Danny Wilson of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Jack Wilson and his wife Charlotte of Eldridge, and Charlie Wilson of Appleton City, Mo.; one sister, Cora Lee Miller of Appleton City, Mo.; five grandchildren, Danny Wilson, Jr., Jacqueline Johnson, Ethan, Zach and Kylie; other relatives and friends.

A graveside service and burial for Daniel Duane Wilson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, at Hufft Cemetery in Eldridge, with military honors by the United States Army, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
