County taking COVID-19 help applications

The Laclede County Commission is taking applications for assistance from businesses harmed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Laclede County Presiding Commissioner Randy Angst said the County Commission is continuing to work through the CARES Act grant funding process including the latest phase, which targets grants for small businesses to reimburse the cost of business interruption.
“We want the community to know that those funds are available for purposed included in our guidance from the (Missouri) treasury is for the economic impact that came about because of the required closures,” he said. “Treasury has amended that and even if there wasn’t a required closure, they allow for the impact that occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic as it related to a decline in economic activity.”
Applications are available at the Laclede County Clerk’s Office, the County Clerk’s website and the county’s website, lacledecountymissouri.org,
