Laclede County is now considered a “hotspot” for COVID-19 cases, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services (DMHSS). The Laclede County Health Department said in a statement Monday that the hotspot advisory also included Phelps and Pulaski counties. The DHSS advisory notes that cases have increased greatly. “In recent weeks, broad regions of Missouri including north central and southwest Missouri have experienced a surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations,” the statement said.
