County in top 10 for COVID-19 increase

Cases increased by 21 percent in a week

In just a week’s time, positive COVID-19 cases have increased by 21 percent in Laclede County, placing the county on the state’s Top 10 Counties - 7 Day Increase list on Tuesday.

According to the Missouri COVID-19 Dashboard, Laclede County has seen an increase in cases from 471 cases a week ago to 569. Laclede County places at the bottom of the state’s top 10.

It is important to note that the data is not only 72 hours old, it also does not match data from the Laclede County Health Department, which says the county has 539 cases.

Laclede County Health Department Administrator Charla Baker said discrepancies in the COVID -19 numbers among different sources was not uncommon.
