County Commission discuses CERT program, collection of Lebanon city taxes

Posted
The Laclede County Commissioners met June 3 and discussed the possibility of a CERT program coming to Laclede County, selected a library board member, discussed an MU Extension office agriculture promotion tour, the collection of city taxes and received a 911 center construction update. Randy Rowe, Laclede County’s OEM director, proposed a CERT or Citizens Emergency Response Team be organized in Laclede County. “That’s the group that comes in after a tornado or major flood. They check on people, go door to door. Plus, we can use them for civic events, crowd control, whatever. Typically, they’re all volunteer,” Rowe said. For more on this story see Saturday's LCR.
