Council approves Downtown expansion

Posted

The Lebanon City Council Monday night gave its final approval to the expansion of the Downtown Business District.

The Council gave first reading approval to the expansion last month and held the second public hearing and vote Monday. The new boundaries will include Cackle Hatchery, Clifton’s West Side Cafe and Fast Eddie’s Muffler Shop.

The Downtown Business District was established in 1976 and the current boundaries were set at that time, City Clerk Laina Starnes said.

“So anytime you want to expand that district you have to go through a process to do so,” she said.
