The Lebanon City Council has approved a 2020-2021 budget that reflects economic uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Council passed the budget at its meeting Monday night at the Cowan Civic Center.
Finance Director Kat Gill said the city was taking the effect of the pandemic into account in its plans.
“This proposed budget includes an anticipated 5 percent decline in sales tax revenue for our General Fund, Transportation Fund, and Capital Improvement Fund. This proposed budget also includes an average 7 percent reduction in non-public safety-related expenses in the city’s General Fund. The proposed budget includes nine currently vacant positions remaining unfilled until January of 2021.
