Council approves $12M in project financing

The Lebanon City Council Monday night approved $12 million in financing for some major capital projects, including improvements and repairs to the Cowan Civic Center, the wastewater treatment plant and water towers. City Administrator Mike Shumacher said the city needs to finance multiple capital improvement projects to repair city facilities, including some already approved by the Council. The Council approved refunding and certificates of participation for the project financing. “There are a multitude of Capital Improvement Projects that need to transpire,” according to City Director of Finance Kat Gill. “The costs of these are expected to benefit citizens both now and in the future. To avoid putting the burden solely on current rate payers we are spreading the cost over several years. For more on this story see Wednesday's LCR.
