The Laclede County Commission heard more applications for CARES funding at its Tuesday morning meeting, including a proposal from the coroner for a county morgue cooler.
The county was awarded $4.2 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) funding. The money is to be used for expenses related to responding to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Coroner Steve Murrell said he had been discussing storage for COVID-19 fatalities with other agencies and that Laclede County is currently lacking storage space.
He said Rolla has brought in another cooler because they had reached capacity.
