Cora E. Marcum, 85, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, in Springfield.

She was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Hamilton, Texas, to Gentry Paul and Rosellen Pierce Haynes.

On April 28, 1955, Cora was married to David Marcum, Jr.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David on Dec. 30, 2003; two daughters, Debbie Keen and Diana Marcum; one son, Randy Marcum; one step-son, David Gene Marcum; and siblings, Paul Haynes, Clarence Haynes, Rosie Whittker, Doc Haynes, Donald Haynes, Alvin Haynes, Lucille Dotson, and Joe Frank Haynes.

Cora worked for Lowell and Gretchen Brown for several years at Quality Cleaners. She then began working for Rice Stix, later H.D. Lee, where she remained for 22 years until her retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs play. However, she most cherished the time spent with her family.

She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Cora is survived by four children, Danny Marcum and his wife Sherri of Lebanon, Donny Marcum and his wife Nina of Ft. Worth, Texas, Donna Jennings and her husband Robert and Dana Hicks and her husband Marvin, both of Lebanon; one sister, Alice Ault of Hamilton, TX; sister-in-law, Betty Showler of Lebanon; 20 grandchildren, Christopher and Stephen Marcum, Charity Wilson, Tammy Razor, Boone Marcum, Phil and Aaron Marcum, David, Jared, Freddy, Cynthia, Thomas, Nevaeh, and Grace Jennings, Nathan Butcher, Cori Wagner, Brett Williams, Ashley Blanco, Megan Cantrell and Natasha Yates; 30 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Cora E. Marcum are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with David Brown and Bradley James officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020, at the funeral home. Under the guidelines of the CDC and the state of Missouri, the staff of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel ask that you observe social distancing and proper hygiene. Masks are suggested.
