A Conway man died from injuries received in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday on West Farm Road 102, a mile north of Springfield.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kelly L. Hargis, 19, the driver of a westbound 2003 Ford Mustang was traveling around a curve to the right, swerved to the left to avoid a vehicle partially stopped in the roadway, and traveled off the left side of the roadway, where he struck a tree and utility pole.
Hargis was transported to Mercy Hospital Springfield, where he was pronounced dead at 2:53 p.m.
A passenger in the vehicle, a 16 year old male was not injured.
Both were reportedly not wearing seat belts.
