Conway girls basketball loses to Warsaw in first round of Doug Loehr Holiday Classic

The Conway Lady Bears lost 24-61 against the Warsaw Lady Wildcats in the first round of the Doug Loehr Holiday Classic on Thursday. With the Lady Bears coming in with a record of 1-5 and the Lady Wildcats one of 6-4, the former faced an uphill battle in their first round of the classic hosted at Weaubleau High. The Lady Wildcats took possession of the ball at tip off and an early lead in the first period. Conway led the game in fouls for this period, allowing Warsaw to increase its lead. Shooting from #10 Arianna Hughes and #11 Katen Wilson brought the score to 6-17 by the end of the period. By the end of the second period, Warsaw had increased its lead to over two times that of Conway’s score. Hughes, #20 Madison Thompson and #23 Hailey Doehring contributed to Conway’s scoring during this period, leaving the score 13-32. For more on this story, see Saturday's LCR.
