KY3 reporter gets involved as cheer captain

Posted
To KY3 news viewers, Marina Silva is known as the Lake of the Ozarks region reporter. However, to a select group of local girls, she is known simply as Coach Marina. Silva is one of two head coaches for the Joel E. Barber School's cheerleading squad. Silva applied for the position, but not before she confirmed she could meet their expectations. “I actually saw it on Facebook. I was a cheerleader and dancer growing up, so to me it was like ‘This should be fun!' And I’ve always wanted to get more involved in the community I live in,” Silva said. Community is very important to her. “That’s always been a big thing to me. I live here, I work here, I want to be involved,” Silva said. For more on this story, see the LCR.
