Clifford Paul Bales, 87, longtime career carpenter and US Army Veteran of Waynesville, died Friday, March 1, 2024, in his home, surrounding by his family.

He is survived by his wife Ethlyn Bales of the home in Waynesville; his four children, Richard McLain (Vivian) of Waynesville, Paula Beard (Jeffery) of Potoka, Ill., John Bales (Stacy) of Waynesville, and C.P. Bales of Waynesville; eight grandchildren, Jesse McLain (Danielle), Tiffany Freeman (Ivan), Nicholas Beard (Bethany), Rachel Wilson, Grace Bales, Jonathan Bales (Reba), Lyndsey Burgess (Cody), and Madison Bales; eight great-grandchildren, Caitlin McLaion, Connor McLain, Gunner Freeman, Brylee Freeman, Jax Blanton, Cooper Bales, Ella Bales and Ember Burgess; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.

Graveside funeral services with Full Military Honors were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville, under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Visitation was Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Paul Bales and may be left at the funeral home.
