A groundbreaking Friday morning celebrated the beginning of construction for the new Nelson Park.
The park, next to Lebanon Middle School, was purchased after the city sold the current Nelson Park property to White River Marine.
Mayor Jared Carr recognized officials attending including representatives of the Lebanon R-3 School District and the Lebanon Park Board including Bruce Owen, a descendant of the Nelson family who donated the land for the original park.
