CHESTER E. RAINEY

Chester E. Rainey, 88, of Richland, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2022, in Richland.

He was born May 12, 1934, in Bismarck, N.D. to Chester Floyd and Neoma Porter Rainey.

On Feb. 27, 1955, he was united to marriage to Sylvia Sue Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sylvia on June 28, 1995; one grandson, Brian Rainey; and two sisters, Katherine Justice and Deloris McBride.

Chester graduated from Stoutland High School with the class of 1952. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served our country for 20 years. He spent 17 years as a flight engineer on helicopter rescue and three years on a special assignment of President extraction transport in Washington, D.C. After his retirement from the Air Force, he returned to the Stoutland/Richland area where he had a turkey farm from 1973-1995 and a cattle farm from 1973-2017.

He was a member of Stoutland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Rainey of Fordland and Victor Rainey and his wife Lisa of Richland; one daughter, Cindy Kaderly of Elkland; two sisters, Gladys Cooper of Kansas City, Mo. and Betty Schweitzer and her husband Denver of the state of Indiana; six grandchildren, Kendra McMillion and her husband Ryan, Marcus Rainey, Roy Cheston Kaderly and his wife Sara, Travis Rainey and his wife Tiara, Mandy Riddle and her husband Justin and John Kaderly; 17 great-grandchildren, Sylvia, Masyn, Lexi, Brendan, Kaden, Emmalyn, Reiss, Makenna, Wade, Waylon, Liam, Grace, Charlestyn, Rainey, Bowen, Callum and McCoy; sisters-in-law, Peggy Burns of Lebanon and Betty Butler of Raytown and their families; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Chester E. Rainey will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Eric Chism officiating. Burial will be in Stoutland Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
