As a bench at Boswell Park was dedicated in his memory on Nov. 2, the late David Chastain was remembered for all the skills and qualities that made him one of the Lebanon-Laclede County Route 66 Society’s most-valuable volunteers.
Chastain, 76, died Aug. 15 after a brief illness. Chastain’s family asked that memorial donations go to the Route 66 Society, which spent the money on a metal bench in his honor on the north side of the restored Camp Joy cabin, a project on which Chastain devoted many hours.
