Charles Rudolph Schneider, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on August 2, 2026.

Charles was born on May 12, 1938, at the family home southeast of Lebanon, Missouri. His life was deeply rooted in his hometown, where he was raised by his parents, Carl and Fern Schneider. He attended Delto School through the eighth grade and graduated from Lebanon High School with the Class of 1955.

From a young age, Charles demonstrated a strong work ethic. He began his career at Rock Court Motel and Station and later worked for Warren Beard and MFA Feed. Eventually, Charles purchased his own milk route and devoted his life to farming. Alongside his beloved wife, Joyce, he milked cows, raised pigs and beef cattle, worked for the USDA Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS), hauled cattle, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends.

On November 3, 1962, Charles married the love of his life, Joyce Chastain, beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned 63 years and 9 months. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and hard work while raising their two sons, Scott and Brice.

Charles is survived by his wife, Joyce Schneider of the home; his sons, Scott Schneider (Susan) and Brice Schneider (Brandi); four grandchildren, Trenton Schneider (Nicole), Zachary Schneider (Kassaundra), Shelby Schneider, and Mason Schneider; three great-grandchildren, Stetson Schneider, Slayton Schneider, and Logan Schneider, with a baby girl on the way; his brother, David Schneider; his sister, Beverly Schneider; brothers-in-law, Jim Henson and Jon Chastain (Becky); sisters-in-law, Marietta Chastain and Becky Chastain; as well as many other cherished family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Fern Schneider; his in-laws, Otis and Barbara Chastain; his sister, Shirley Henson; his brothers-in-law, Jerry and David Chastain; his sister-in-law, Martha Schneider; his niece, Cindy (Henson) Vanarsdall; and his nephew, Brian Chastain.

A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Charles’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hough Chapel Cemetery, in care of David Schneider, 16 Greenwood, Lebanon, MO 65536.
