Central upsets Lebanon in district championship

Posted
SPRINGFIELD — For the first time since 1978, the Central Bulldogs are district champions in volleyball. The No. 3 seed Bulldogs upset the No. 1 seed Lebanon Yellowjackets in three sets (26-24, 25-23, 25-23) on Thursday night at Parkview High School to claim the first district title in 42 years. For Lebanon (12-10-1 overall, 4-3 Ozark Conference), it has been 2016 since they could hang a banner in Boswell Auditorium. “There is one space left on the hanging banner in Boswell, and it was the intent that this 2020 team amongst all the craziness endured wanted to be the ones to fill it,” head coach Jenny Collins said.
