CATHERINE JEAN DINWIDDIE

Catherine Jean Dinwiddie, 83, of Lebanon, died Sunday, July 4, 2021, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lebanon.

She was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Zion, Ill. to Harold Joseph and Ecko Rozella Jones Basinger, who preceded her in death.

On March 13, 1968, she married Charles Arnold Dinwiddie, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.

She was born and raised in Zion, Ill. and graduated from Zion High School. She then began working in the Zion State Bank, where she met Charlie. After they were married, they made their home in Zion, Ill. and lovingly raised their family. Later, Catherine became the accounting clerk for Schigma Bank for several years. When she and Charles retired, they moved to Lebanon and made their home.

She made her profession of faith at an early age, and was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Lebanon. She was involved in the church choir and sang with the Joyful Singers. She and Charles were currently members of Heritage Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Charles, of the home; a daughter, Lori Ann Piela and her husband Kevin of Pleasant Pride, Wis.; a son, Thomas Harold Dinwiddie of Rockford, Ill.; five grandchildren, Crystal, Tiffany, Benjamin, Ethan, and Elizabeth; a great-grandson, Kevin Jr.; two sisters, Shirley Wright of Lombard, Ill.; and Ruth Randle and her husband Clifford of Kenosha, Wis.; a sister-in-law, Tommie Dinwiddie of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Catherine Jean Dinwiddie will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Heritage Baptist Church in Lebanon with the Rev. Larry Richardson and the Rev. Kevin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park Veterans’ Circle of Honor in Lebanon, under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. A memorial to Heritage Kids and Regional Hospice has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
