Carol Lou Brackett, 83, of Richland, died Saturday, April 18, 2020, in Richland.

She was born March 18, 1937, in Wayne, Neb. to Edward and Clara Emma Doring Kurrelmeyer.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edward Kurrelmeyer; a sister, Loraine Sievers and by a grandson, Jeremiah Brackett.

She graduated from Stoutland High School in the class of 1955. She owned and operated “Carol’s Country Living’’ for several years in the Richland community.

Carol was a member of First Baptist Church in Richland.

She is survived by her son, Jim W. Brackett and his wife Sheila and a daughter, Janet York and her husband, Richard, all of Richland; one sister, Barbara Smith and her husband Howard, of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren, Charlotte Waters and her husband Luke, Cassie Anthony and her husband Brett, Christie Chastain and her husband James, and Jessie Burns and her husband Cole; ten great-grandchildren, Hunter and Jacob Waters, Aiden and Alex Anthony, Bryan, Brayden, Bryce and Brystol Chastain, and Lexi and Jaxon Burns; other relatives and many dear friends.

A limited graveside service and burial for Carol Lou Brackett will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at Wair Chapel Cemetery near Richland with Doug Jacobsen officiating, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. Friends may call at the chapel at their convenience after 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, until time for departure for the the cemetery. Under the guidelines of the state of Missouri, the staff of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel can only allow ten people at a time to gather. Those guidelines will be monitored during this time to accommodate the family and their wishes.
