Carol Ann Peterson, 79, of Mansfield, formerly of Lebanon, was born April 4, 1944, in Springfield to James Archie and Anna Lee (Brinkley) Coates and died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at Aurora Nursing Center. She is survived by two sons, Samuel Smith and his wife Angie of Yukon, Okla., and Matthew Smith of Springfield; a daughter, Brenda Greer and her husband Clarence of Mesquite, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at Nancy Newton Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mansfield.
