Burke Stafford Holt, 75, of Preston, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021.
He was born Dec. 15, 1945, in Independence, Mo. to Paul Holt and Josephine (Stafford) Holt.
On Dec. 17, 1964, he married Mary Jane Watkinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, June and Wilma, and three brothers, Paul, Cecil, and Joe Ray.
Burke graduated from Skyline High School in 1963. He enlisted and served in the United States Navy from 1964-1968. He retired from John Knox Village in 2014 after more than 25 years of service.
He and Mary attended the Springfield Restoration Church as much as their health would allow.
He is survived by his wife Mary; \two sons, Johnny Dale Holt of Preston, and Tommy Dale Holt and wife Taria, of Preston; five grandchildren, Devin Holt and wife Natalie, of Bolivar; Shane Holt and wife Kylie, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Brennan Holt and fiancée Kaylee Damitz of Preston; Jeramy Holt and wife Lisset of Camdenton; and Derrick Holt of Springfield; seven great-grandchildren, Hayden, Everly, Camille, Nora, Celeste, Gaia, and Sky; two sisters, Patricia Feugate of Independence; Wanda and husband Larry Sheppard of Appleton City; brothers, Jimmie King and wife Jean, of Fort Riley, Kan. and Knox “Hokey” Holt of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; and along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends
Memorial services for Burke Stafford Holt will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Urbana.
Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service in the funeral home.
