Bolivar hands Lebanon a second straight loss

Posted

It has taken no time for the Bolivar Liberator football team to get acquainted with the Ozark Conference’s competition as they moved to 3-0 on Friday night after defeating Lebanon at Plaster Stadium on the campus of Southwest Baptist University, 20-7.

Lebanon has lost two games in the first three weeks for the first time since 2009, whenever the team started 0-2 to begin the season with losses to Parkview and Neosho.

The LHS football team has dealt with constant injuries throughout the season so far, were without four starters on Friday night and started sophomore quarterback Preston Ellingson for his first varsity start with the team.

“I thought (Ellingson) did a really nice job tonight,” head coach Will Christian said. “I thought he did great and had a lot of poise and didn’t have that deer in the headlights look."
