Blood drive at Hillcrest Church Oct. 19

Posted

According to the American Red Cross, the organization’s blood supply is at a 6-year low, but local donors can help with two upcoming blood drives.
The first event coming up is a blood drive on Oct. 19 at Hillcrest Baptist Church Family Life Center, 399 Hover Ave. People can donate blood from noon to 6 p.m. on that day.
The second blood drive is being hosted by the City of Lebanon on Oct. 28. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., people can go to the Mills Center to donate blood.
The Red Cross encourages people who have blood types of O, B- or A- to consider making a “Power Red” donation. According to the organization, red blood cells are the most commonly transfused blood component.
To sign up for the blood drives, visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter “LebanonArea” or “CityofLebanon” to schedule and appointment or call 1-800-733-2767.
