Billie Joe Glass, 73, was born October 14, 1947, in Louisburg, Missouri, the son of Joe L. and Ruby Alta (Wing) Glass. He died January 28, 2021, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar, Missouri. Billie was reared in Louisburg and went to school in Buffalo, Missouri where he graduated. He was in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. He was united in marriage with Debra J. Garrison on October 7, 1994. They made their home in Urbana. To this union, Lindsay Sue Glass was born. He started a small engine business with his father and kept it going many years after his father’s passing. He loved mowing yards with his wife and daughter and always kept himself updated on lawn mowing equipment with his many manuals. He also did carpentry work on the side. His favorite hobbies were collecting antiques and eating any dessert he could get his hands on. Billie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Debra, of the home; one daughter, Lindsay and her husband, Michael Roberts, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and other family members and friends who will truly miss him. Funeral services were Monday, February 1, 2021 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Urbana with Pastor Don Kelterhouse officiating. Escorts were Stiel Carter, John Garrison, Dawson Owen, Mike Austin, Kriston Neitzert, and Jared Kottwitz. Honorary escorts were Randy Garrison and Scooter Owens. Interment was in the Howard Chapel Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Urbana.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help cover funeral costs.
