BILL WHEELER

Bill Wheeler, 80, of Lebanon, died Friday, April 17, 2020, in Lebanon.

He was born July 18, 1939, in Waynesville, Mo. to Clyde and Helen Irene Degraffenreid Wheeler, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his wife Deanna on May 7, 2017.

Bill taught school in the Lebanon R-3 School District for many years and later became the principal of Joel E. Barber C-5 School. He served the Lebanon community on the city council for several terms and also served on the Lebanon-Laclede County Library Board.

He is survived by a son, David Wheeler and his wife Tammy of Lebanon; a stepson, Gerry Darnell and his wife, Julie Ann,  of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Judy Akers of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Annie Henry, Kylee and Kirstyn Rust; two great-grandchildren, Gage Newell and Zoey Nava; other relatives and friends.

No service is planned for Bill Wheeler. At his request he will be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. A memorial has been established to the Lebanon-Laclede County Library. Sign guest book at www.shadelscolonialchapel.com.
