Beverly Sue Amschler, 85, of Springfield, died Monday morning, Jan. 10, 2022, in Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehabilitation in Springfield.

She was born Oct. 23, 1936, in Red Top, Mo. to Frank and Jewell Newan Tayloer.

On Jan. 18, 1955, she married John Joseph Amschler, and to this union one daughter and three sons were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband John, on Aug. 7, 1996.

Beverly was born and raised in the Red Top community, just south of Buffalo, and graduated from Pleasant Hope High School. While working in Springfield, she met and married her husband. He was career military so they made their home in various places across the world. They lived in France, Germany, and Newfoundland as well as in various places stateside. When John retired, the family made their home in Red Top before moving to Lebanon in 1986. Through the years, Beverly was a devoted homemaker to her family.

She was raised in the Messiaenic Jewish faith. As an adult she had accepted Christ as her Savior and followed the Baptist faith while still loving and staying connected to her Jewish roots.

She is survived by three sons, John Amschler and his wife Twyla of Springfield; James Amschler and his wife Patricia of Avon, Ind., and Jason Amschler and his wife Stacie of Springfield; a daughter, Susie Steele of Bossier City, La.; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Beverly Sue Amschler will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon with the Rev. Allen Reeves officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Lebanon. Visitation will be from noon-1 p.m. Thursday at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. A memorial to the Breast Cancer Foundation has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
