BEVERLY K. DELCOUR

Beverly K. Delcour, 78, of Bois D’ Arc, formerly of Lebanon, died unexpectedly Monday, March 27, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born July 28, 1944 in Independence to Hosea Cope and Crystal Butler Cope.

She grew up in the Grovespring, Missouri area and was a graduate of Hartville High School. While in high school, she participated in many clubs and activities and was a drum majorette in the Hartville High School band. On June 30, 1962, Beverly was united in marriage to Ronald Delcour and to this union one daughter and three sons were born. She spent her young adult life in Lebanon, Missouri working for Dr. Hartzog, DDS as a receptionist and dental assistant, then Dr. Richter and Dr. Brady, DDS as a receptionist until the early 2000’s.

After the death of Ronald, Beverly moved to Bois D’Arc. She attended Ozarks Technical College in Springfield and became a certified phlebotomist. She was an active member of Hillside Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. In her later years she moved to Iowa City, Iowa to be close to her daughter, Kim.

The greatest loves in her life were her family, friends, her church, and her teacup Yorkie Gabby Jo, who was always by her side. She loved God and serving Him. She was ready to spend eternity in Heaven.

Beverly adored her grandchildren and always looked forward to spending time with them and watching them participate in sporting events and activities.

She also loved horses and enjoyed spending time with her horses around the farm as well as on trail rides with friends. When she was younger, she and Ronald were avid riders’. They rode frequently for pleasure, but they were also passionate about hosting endurance trail rides for the Kidney Foundation. She always found ways to give to others.

Beverly enjoyed traveling, especially travel cruises. She was outgoing and never met a stranger. She had a radiant smile and an infectious laugh.

She was kind, generous, and always ready and willing to help anyone in need. Her kind and gentle ways will forever be remembered by everyone who knew her.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ronald Delcour.

She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Kimberly Delcour, DO of Iowa City, Iowa; three sons, Mark Delcour of Lufkin, Texas, Kevin Delcour (wife, Tammy) of Sleeper and Shawn Delcour (wife, Lindsay) of Phillipsburg; her sister, Marilyn Prater (husband, Robert) of Bolivar; nine grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Beverly was an amazing person who always put others first, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister. One of her greatest pleasures in life was cooking for her family during family gathering which she did as often as possible. Beverly will always be remembered for her kind and giving nature, compassion for others, and her love of life and devotion. She will forever be loved and remembered by her family, friends, and Gabby Jo.

Funeral services for Beverly K. Delcour were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial was in Mount Rose Memorial Park.
