BEVERLY J. HOERNING

Beverly J. Hoerning, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Lebanon, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, in Springfield.

She was born May 16, 1929, in Flint, Mich. to Charles and Elsie Mink Furnkas.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Robin Bradley, and two grandsons, Jacob Smith and Gabriel Watson.

She attended school in the Flint, Mich. area. She was a hard worker throughout her entire life and at the age of 13, began working at a department store in Michigan. She later joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served our country for the next two years. While living in California she worked at Lockheed Aircraft while raising her four children. In 1975, she and her children moved to Lebanon, where she again worked. She was employed at a convenience store on Highway 5 South for several years and later with H.D. Lee where she retired. Although she worked very hard, Beverly found time to enjoy crocheting, ceramics and her love of caring for animals.

Beverly was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her son, Steven Hoerning and his wife Cindy of Nixa; two daughters, Deborah Young and her husband David of Marshfield, and Sandra Smith and her husband Mike of Lebanon; her son-in-law, Kevin Bradley of Springfield; two sisters, Marcella Kanger of Michigan and Charlotte Siebenrock of Arizona; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, as well as many dear friends.

No services are planned at this time for Beverly J. Hoerning. Her body will be cremated under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
