Beverly Isabel “Bev’’ Long, 74, of Lebanon, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2020, in Lebanon.

She was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Oscar and Ruth Hedges Bauer, who preceded her in death.

On Jan. 19, 1970, she married Kenneth Long.

She moved to the Lebanon community in 1957. She attended Lebanon High School and graduated with the class of 1964. She began working for the City of Lebanon on Aug. 20, 1981 until her retirement on Sept. 26, 2008. Her co-workers became more like family to her. She loved them, as they did her.

Bev had been a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth “Moose” Long; one daughter, Tracey Capps and her husband Mike; one son, Travis Long and his wife Angie, all of Lebanon; one brother, Don Bauer and his wife Carol of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren, Trenton Johnson, Riley Johnson, Halle Long, Daxton Long, Kiley Capps, Banyan Long, Mason Hodges, Mitchell Hodges, Dakota Horsley, Makayla Capps and Lakiah Capps; four great-grandchildren; two nephews, Pat Bauer and his wife Sherri and their children, Lindsey and Nick and Greg Bauer and his wife Malina and their children, Blake and Skylar Bauer and Mason and Grant; other relatives and countless friends.

A visitation only for Beverly “Bev’’ Long will be held from 10 a.m-noon Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel. There will be a burial at a later date under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon. To sign the guestbook online please visit shadelscolonialchapel.com. Under the guidelines of the CDC and the state of Missouri, the staff of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel ask that you observe social distancing and proper hygiene. Masks are suggested.
