Matt Palmer is a local attorney with the Missouri State Public Defenders office who works primarily with clients in Laclede County. On a couple of weekends each month, however, he can be found on the road to Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Louisville, Kentucky or the outskirts of St. Louis, with two particularly devoted friends, Merlin and Kingsley. Merlin, a four year old golden retriever and Kingsley, a 2-year-old Novia Scotia duck-tolling retriever are purebred show dogs—playful, beautiful champions who are also normal sweet, romping pups when not in the dog show ring.
“I’ve been involved in this now for about four years, and it’s a good social release. You meet a lot of people from all across the country and of course, we all love dogs,” Palmer said.
