Bertie Jo Helton, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Evening Shade was born Aug. 18, 1932, in Evening Shade to Elmer L. Helton and Josephine (Miller) Helton and died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, in Springfield. She is survived by children, grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at Palace Church with Rev. Zachary Hindman officiating. Burial was in Palace Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.
