With the 100th anniversary of Bennett Spring State Park approaching, the park has put together a day-long series of events on Oct. 5 to celebrate the occasion, according to park staff.
“Bennett Spring is the second oldest park in the state of Missouri,” said park superintendent Gabe DuMond, adding that preparation for the celebration has been underway for almost a year.
Most of the day’s festivities will center around Shelter B, with DuMond noting that there will be shuttles for visitors to take across the Whistle Bridge to avoid traffic congestion.
