An investigation into the fire that destroyed the historic H.D. Lee clothing plant is continuing, according to the Missouri Division of Fire Safety.
The cause of the Oct. 20 fire is listed as undetermined and the case is still part of an ongoing criminal investigation, according to Mike O’Connell, Communications Director for the Missouri Department of Public Safety.
The structure, constructed in 1923 and most recently known as the Allen Building, had been the home of a Rice-Stix and later H.D. Lee clothing plant before closing in 1990.
