Arthur Leroy Morris, 77, was born on Aug. 14, 1941, in Mountain Grove, Mo. Jesus took Art unto His arms on Friday, March 12, 2021, in Phillipsburg, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leroy Morris and Roberta Shannon Morris of Springfield.
Art served in the music ministry of several Missouri churches including Camdenton, Aurora, Richmond, Nevada, and Rich Hill. He also played piano for Sunshine Baptist Church. He also served as a Police Dispatcher in Nevada for over 20 years.
He is survived by his wife Betty O’Dell Bender Morris of Phillipsburg; his son, Kevin Arthur Morris and wife Marla of Strafford; his son Christopher Ray Morris and wife Sarah of Nevada, Mo.; and stepson Timothy Alan Bender and wife JY of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren including Witney Jo Morris of Springfield; Kenan Zachary Morris of Springfield; Annabelle Paulette Morris of Nevada, Mo.; Kurtis Eli Morris of Strafford; Emma Caroline Morris, of Nevada, Mo.; James Christopher Morris of Nevada, Mo.; Elizabeth Joy Bender of Overland Park, Kan. and Ella Grace Morris of Nevada, Mo.
Funeral services for Arthur Leroy Morris will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Sunshine Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo. with graveside service and burial to follow at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield. Visitation will be one hour before services from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.
