Arch installation could begin in 30 days

Depending on the weather, installation of the downtown arches could begin in the next 30 days. A site inspection with a contractor was conducted on Wednesday ahead of the planned work. Lebanon Communications Manager Derek Gean said minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The gateway span of the planned arch is 46 feet and will include the words “Lebanon Downtown” at Jefferson and Commercial. On each end of the arch will be a structurally designed light pole to match the existing street lights. At the base of each will be a brick planter with decorative landscaping. In October, the Lebanon City Council approved the bid of Brinkoetter’s Iron Works to deliver and install material for the arches in the amount of $72,421. The costs were split 75/25 with 75 percent of the funding coming from city capital improvement funds and 25 percent coming from the Downtown Business District.
