Americorps helps with adult education

While the Peace Corps works to help America share its technology and education with the rest of the world, its counterpart stateside, Americorps, is a program that helps and serves those in this country who have seemingly been left behind by the pace of the ever-changing world. Americorps offers programs that include tutoring in elementary schools to urban gardens, from food pantry assistance to disaster services, working in southwest Missouri, for instance, in conjunction with Convoy of Hope. Americorps also has the only adult education assistance program in the country, and that one is located right here in Laclede County.
