Allen’s service to city remembered with Council chamber name

Posted
The memory of a lifelong contributor to the Lebanon community continues to live on in the name adorning the City Council chambers. The Council in November approved a resolution naming the chambers where the council meets the Stanley H. Allen Council Chambers. Allen, who died last April, served as mayor for 12 years beginning in 1996. During his tenure, he played a major role in remodeling and expanding City Hall, including the council chambers. The resolution described Allen as “a dedicated leader who displayed a true heart for the community.” For more on this story, see Saturday's LCR.
