Taking town pride to new heights

Posted
Safely turning something as large and industrial as a water tower into an eye appealing symbol of town pride takes a team of professionals. Ozark Applicators LLC out of Van Buren, Mo., has the credentials to take on such a project. The company was selected by the City of Lebanon earlier in the year to sandblast and recoat the inside as well as pressure wash and paint the outside of several towers in town. Established in 2001 by Darrin and Penny Treadway, the company employs about 17 people, including both office and on-site employees. Even though the company is almost 20 years old, Darrin and Penny both had a background in the painting industry prior to starting the company and Penny is a third-generation contract painter. The City of Lebanon has contracted Ozark Applicators LLC to paint several water towers in town over several years going back as far as 2005. “This is the fourth one,” Derek Hampton said of the water tower at Spiller Park. Hampton is a 15-year employee of the company and the foreman of the crew that includes Kristopher Roberson, Dylan Wells and Chad Grant. For more on this story see Saturday's LCR.
