A Taste of Oktober fundraiser called a success

Posted
The first A Taste of Oktober fundraiser was held Oct. 19 and brought in a larger than expected crowd. The event featured German foods as well as local cuisine, polka music from the Garbonzo’s of Springfield, games, contests and awards. Lynne Brand, president of the Project 360 board, was there in appropriate regalia for an Oktoberfest type event. “We were looking for a signature event that we could do every year for Project 360 to raise money for the Sound House and the kids that we serve every day. We’re working on a shelter for them to sleep every night … so far, it’s turning out really well. I am excited,” Brand said. For more on this story, see the LCR.
