The Laclede County Record has won First Place General Excellence in its size of weekly newspaper for the third year in a row from the Missouri Press Association. On Sept. 25, the Missouri Press Association held its 155th annual convention, which included an awards ceremony for the winners of the 2021 Better Newspaper Contest Awards, at Excelsior Springs. “When I returned to Lebanon Publishing Company a little over three years ago, I told our management team that I would really like to win General Excellence at least once in my career. I told them I believed we had the team to accomplish the honor our newspaper had never in its history achieved,” said Laclede County Record Publisher Beth Chism. “Our team has earned the designation three years running. I could not be more proud. Excellence is a choice. I am so glad our team has chosen to reach and remain at a level of excellence." For more on this story see Saturday's LCR.
