A Hart for cutting hair

Hart has sold his long running barber shop and will partially retire after five generations of hair

Milan Hart has seen many changes in the 58 consecutive years he has worked as a barber in Lebanon.

Hart, who will turn 78 on Oct. 25, has decided that it is time to slow down a bit. On Oct. 1, he sold Hart’s Barber Shop to Steve Knapp, who has worked with him since 2014.

“Milan is wonderful to work with. He is the best boss I have ever had,’’ Knapp said. “I could not have asked for a better person to work with.’’

However, Hart is only semi-retiring and said he will still work three days a week — Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Hart is a lifelong resident of Lebanon.
